We typically have excellent success restoring lace that has yellowed with age. Posted on our website is a photo of a vintage dress that we restored half and sewed it back together. The lace had severely yellowed on this gown. This should give you an idea of what is possible. This all assumes the lace has not become overly brittle and can withstand the processing necessary. The split gown mentioned above is in the lobby at our Kearny Mesa location on Convoy in San Diego. It was donated by a customer who was married in 1967 and was in very poor condition when we received it. After cutting it carefully in half down the center, we restored one side and then sewed it back together. If you can't come and see it in person, there is a photo in our Vintage Before and Afters.
